Here are some of the beautiful stories that come from our animal friends. Enjoy!
(The names have been changed to protect the privacy of the individuals in these stories.)
Mary and Chester
Events occurred that made Mary feel that it was too dangerous outside for her cat Chester, and that he should be made to stay inside for the time being. She wanted to make sure he understood why this was going to happen and would he prefer to go to a new home where he would be safer in an outdoor environment. I spoke with Chester and a compromise was made as he still wished to explore outside, but Chester agreed to go out 'less often' for now to please Mary. The information that came next was not what Mary was expecting... "My heart is breaking for Mary. She has a decision to make, deep inside of her. She must wake it up soon and address it or it will fester and make her sick. She is a wonderful being and I am glad to be with her in this time. We have walked together before, and before that. She has great teachings inside of her that are waiting to be heard by others. Only she can decide when to 'let them out'. My teachings are clear - I am willing to 'go out' regardless of the dangers - that is my way of living...of being alive. Is Mary willing to do the same?" (What a wonderful lesson in stepping outside our comfort zone and being who we were meant to be.)
Linda and Petunia
Linda called me one day concerned for her dog, Petunia, whom she had rescued as a stray. The dog was about to have ligament surgery on her back leg, (the very same surgery that Linda had gone through herself.) and Linda wanted to make sure that Petunia understood that she would not be able to run and play for some time afterwards. She wanted me to ask if there was anything she could do for Petunia to make her more confortable in her healing process. As I began my session with Petunia; getting permission from her and preparing to ask Linda's questions, I immediately got the message that this was about "being held back - not being flexible". I never got a chance to ask any questions...here is what Petunia relayed to me for Linda... "I understand about not running and being quiet. I am sad about it, but will be patient. Linda should not worry about it so much, I am fine. Linda needs to step up and move forward - I love her very much and am here to help her succeed. She is very competent, but has trouble believing it sometimes."Linda, forget what they say and know what you feel. Believe it in your heart - it is so. Manifest it! I am here to support you - I understand what you tell me, now understand me - when you feel like you can't go on, when you can't believe it for yourself, just look at me - I am your reminder. I have been through much abuse, which I chose to experience, to help another being...the details of which I choose not to share, for it will only bring pity and sadness from others. Instead, I wish you to see my strength and draw from it, for it is within you Linda, to do what you must. What you are called to do." "As for how I feel, it is just a body and it is just for now - it is changeable and not of importance to me. I am grateful for all you do for me and trust you to care for me as you see fit. I will be happier when I can run and play for that is a joy in this existence. I wish only to please you and to help you. Pay attention and see me in you."
This was a powerful message for Linda to receive at this particular time in her life. She understood exatly what Petunia was speaking of. It was not for me to know. Our animals are very wise and are often here to teach us about ourselves. This story is a beautiful and loving example.
